The Public Agency of the Republic of Slovenia for Entrepreneurship and Foreign Investments - JAPTI was established in 2006 by pooling the facilities of the Small Business Development Centre (PCMG) and the Slovenian Agency for Trade and Investment Promotion (TIPO). Our agency acts in two sectors: the sector for entrepreneurship and the sector for foreign direct investments and internationalisation.
JAPTI’s mission is to improve Slovenia’s economic competitiveness through technical and financial assistance to entrepreneurs and investors. It is the focal point of contact for existing and future Slovenian entrepreneurs, foreign investors, local exporters and importers, and it works closely with the key strategy players, including the Slovenian Government and the local authorities, as well as business, trade and professional associations. JAPTI implements programmes and measures aimed at promoting entrepreneurial development, and increasing the competitiveness of enterprises and of the country itself.
JAPTI strives to foster an entrepreneurial spirit by promoting entrepreneurship and an entrepreneur-friendly environment, business knowledge together with in-company R&D and innovation, thereby generating impetus for new undertakings. It also helps companies to improve performance and to become international players. By promoting the business image of Slovenia, JAPTI strives to attract more inward FDI. The abilities and talent of its staff in conjunction with guidance and financing from the Ministry of the Economy are put to good use in promoting an enterprise culture in Slovenia; increasing exports; attracting and retaining direct investment as well as promoting far and wide the business image of Slovenia on the global market.
